๐จ Motorist Assistance โ Stay Safe on the Expressway ๐จ
Constable Solis recently assisted a motorist who had a flat tire on the expressway. โ ๏ธ Changing a tire on the side of a busy highway can be extremely dangerous, with vehicles traveling at high speeds just feet away.
If you find yourself stranded on the freeway:
๐น If possible, move your vehicle to a safe location, well away from moving traffic.
๐น Turn on your hazard lights to alert approaching drivers.
๐น Stay inside your vehicle when it is safe to do so.
๐น Call your local law enforcement agency or DPS for assistance. Officers can help provide a safe environment while you wait for roadside assistance.
๐น Never attempt to change a tire in a travel lane.
๐น If you must exit your vehicle, use extreme caution and stay as far away from traffic as possible.
Your safety is more important than getting back on the road quickly. When in doubt, call for help and let trained professionals assist you.
๐ A special thank you to all the motorists who slowed down and moved over while Constable Solis was assisting the stranded motorist. Your cooperation helps keep everyone โ motorists and first responders alike โ safer on our roadways.
๐ Slow Down. Move Over. Stay Safe.
