The traffic lights at 29th and Harrah Rd are out. Public works is on the way to get them running again.

Until then, treat it as a 4-way stop. Come to a full stop, look both ways, and take your turn. Give yourself a little extra time this morning and be patient with other drivers.

Quick PSA after today's injury collision at NE 23rd and Triple X Rd 🚨

Between us, fire, and EMS, we had a lot of people working that scene, and the road was shut down for a bit while we got everyone taken care of and everything cleared.

When an officer is waving you through or sending you another way, just go that way. We know you need to be somewhere. We know it's inconvenient. We know you live "just down the street." Trust us, we've heard it, and we promise we're not doing this to ruin your day.

Every time someone stops to ask what's going on or if they can squeeze through, that's an officer pulled off the job they're actually trying to do, and it makes the road take LONGER to reopen. The fastest way to get you home is to follow directions and keep moving.

We're all hands on deck out there to get things safe and back to normal. Help us help you.

Last night some of our Officers got invited to hang out with Girl Scout Troop 318, girls from Russell Babb and Clara Reynolds who are working on their government badge. 🚓💚

These girls came ready. They had a ton of questions about police and first responder work, and a couple of them had us laughing so hard we needed a minute before we could answer. Tough crowd. Great crowd. 😂

Then we showed them the patrol cars…

To anyone who lives near the PD: sorry about the sirens and horns for about five minutes... We just showed a group of Girl Scouts where the buttons are, and they found ALL of them. Turns out they work a siren the same way they work cookie sales: no hesitation, zero mercy. 🚨😅

Honestly, this is the best part of the job. Some of these girls might be running this town someday, or wearing this badge, and we're glad we got to meet them before they take over. 😄

Thanks for having us, Troop 318. Have us back anytime. We'll even let you press the buttons again (maybe not for five minutes though). 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

We all do our best to keep the car organized, but heavy bags, water bottles, laptops and toys have a way of piling up. In a crash, anything loose in the car can become a projectile. You can't always keep all objects home, but you may be able to rearrange some things in your car to keep them from flying in the event of a crash.

We didn't know today was a holiday, but apparently it's International Don't Stop For Stop Signs Day. 🛑

Bad news: that's not a real holiday. Our officers are out there today, watching those stop signs like it's the season finale of their favorite show.

Stop signs aren't a suggestion. They're not a "yield if you're feeling it." The "rolling stop" is not a personality, and it's definitely not a defense.

So come to a full stop. Count to two. Look both ways. Make good choices. Your future self (and your wallet) will thank you.

This morning while grabbing some breakfast, Officer Forrest, along with Harrah Police Department Sergeant Johnson and Officer Kight, got “ducked” by Preslee! 🦆

Preslee gave each officer two ducks for their patrol units. Thanks for making our morning, Preslee! We’ll make sure they find a good home in the cruisers.
