Roane State Foundation Together, we build bridges to the future, transforming lives in East TN one student at a time.

Initiatives to support Roane State students and communities can take many forms. At the end of the day, our purpose is simple: we partner with friends like you to build bridges to the future, one student at a time. How We Help:

- Transforming lives through annual student scholarship opportunities for high school students, traditional students, and non-traditional adult students
- Inspiring excellence with the provision of faculty development opportunities and support for RSCC academic programs
- Strengthening community by supporting initiatives and capital projects that fuel student growth

The mission of Roane State Foundation is to maintain and enhance the quality of life, including economic development, in Roane State’s service area – but we can’t do it alone. Your support not only transforms the lives of Roane State students: it creates new possibilities, paves a way forward for families, and strengthens East Tennessee communities for generations to come.

Meet Jay Shepherd, one of the newest members of the Roane State Foundation Board of Directors.

Jay joined the board this year with the goal of helping more students in our local communities access education by reducing the financial barriers that can stand in their way.

He sees the Foundation as an opportunity to connect students with resources and support they may not otherwise have, creating an impact that reaches beyond the individual student and into the communities they call home.

For those considering supporting the Foundation, Jay encourages them to think about just how far their generosity can reach: “Consider the direct impact your donation would have on an individual and community.”

We’re grateful to have Jay’s perspective and commitment on the Foundation Board!

It’s Healthcare Simulation Week, and we’re celebrating the hands-on training happening at Roane State’s Knox Regional Health Science Education and Simulation Center.

The center gives students the opportunity to practice realistic healthcare scenarios, building the skills and confidence they’ll need before they ever step into a clinical setting.

Supporting programs and facilities like this is about more than scholarships. It’s about helping prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals right here in East Tennessee.

We're celebrating Healthcare Simulation Week by announcing the inaugural Appalachian Simulation Games to be held April 16, 2027. Healthcare students and professionals from across the region will put their knowledge, teamwork, and clinical skills to the test in an exciting day of competition.
