Over 3 years ago, our company was requested to assist with the birthday party for a young child in our community who loves fire trucks. Members stepped up and every year since, make it a point to help celebrate his special day with taking fire trucks by his residence for him to enjoy, as well as taking him for a quick ride around town. Throughout our time spent with him and his family, it was discovered his family lost a loved one who worked for the FDNY at Engine 8, Ladder 2, Battalion 8 house during the 9/11 attacks in New York City. To show their appreciation, his family invited a group of members to travel with them to New York City for the 25th anniversary to help honor all those lost. Friday, September 11, 2026, several members attended services held at the house of Engine 8, Ladder 2 and Battalion 8, located in Midtown Manhattan. It was an absolute privilege to attend the services to honor all those lost. We would like to thank everyone for their hospitality during our visit. We continue to keep all those affected in our thoughts and prayers from that day. Never forget.
