$23,962.04 can look like a lot of different things... ✨

A warm meal when a child first arrives. School supplies that help a child feel prepared. A new dresser for a family. A little less weight for a family walking through a hard season.

At Battle of the Brews, the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class of 2026 helped make all of these things possible with a gift to Coyote Hill.

As Jefferson City Development Manager, Kristin Milligan shared, “It really is the gospel, right? It’s meeting the physical needs of the children and the families in the moment. It’s feeding the children. It’s taking strangers in. It’s loving them as Jesus loved us first.”

Thank you, Jefferson City, for showing up for children and families and reminding foster families that they are not alone. 💙

A few years ago, *Megan wouldn’t get near a horse. *Sarah was hesitant to ride any faster than a walk. This summer, they both discovered just how far they could grow. 🐴💙

For five weeks, the girls made the nearly two-hour drive from Hannibal to Coyote Hill’s Overton Arena in Harrisburg to spend time with their horses through our Equine Program.

Megan, now in her third year, had grown too tall for her beloved mini horse, Cajun. This summer, she climbed onto Pablo, a full-size horse, by herself. Sarah, in her second year, found the confidence to trot.

But their progress went beyond learning to ride. They learned how to groom, tack and care for their horses. They built relationships with horses they returned to year after year. And, with patient instructors encouraging them along the way, they grew in confidence and trust. ✨

Catch. Fry. Repeat. 🎣

Fishing Day at our Foster Care Neighborhood was a BIG catch! 🙌

Children spent the day casting, reeling, laughing, and celebrating every fish that made it onto the line. And the next day? They got to enjoy the ultimate reward: a fish fry featuring the fish they caught themselves! 🍽️🐟

One 5-year-old summed it up pretty well: “My favorite part is that I caught 10 fish!"
And another had the most important takeaway: “I liked that I got to eat the fish I caught!”

Fresh air, big catches, good food, and even better memories. Sounds like a pretty great summer day to us. 💙

Another ribbon cutting?! You bet! Hannibal, we’re officially HOME. 🏡✂️

We had the best time celebrating the opening of our new Hannibal office alongside the Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce, foster families, community partners, supporters, local leaders, and friends who believe in the work happening across northeast Missouri.

This new space is about so much more than a new address. It’s a place to gather, support foster families, serve our community, and remind every family who walks through our doors: You belong here.

Last week, our staff got a first look at something we’ve been waiting a long time to share: the new Coyote Hill logo! 🐺✨

During our staff meeting, we unveiled the new look to our team and celebrated with a little gift to take home: an Owala featuring our new logo.

This new logo represents where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re headed next, and we can’t wait for you to see it!

The official unveiling is coming soon at Boots 'N Bids! We’re so excited to share this next chapter of Coyote Hill with you. 💙

"People need to know they’re not alone.” 💙

That belief is at the heart of Dr. David Hockman’s new book, Surgeon Unmasked: A Journey from Shame to Grace.

Behind a successful career as an orthopaedic surgeon was a deeply personal journey through church hurt, anxiety, depression, illness, and ultimately, healing and hope.

David chose to share his story because he knows the power of someone being willing to go first; to be vulnerable, to share their scars, and to remind others that they aren’t alone.

And now, his story is giving back. 100% of proceeds from Surgeon Unmasked benefit Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries and the children and families we serve. ✨

Read David’s story, discover what inspired him to write the book, and learn why he chose Coyote Hill.
