πŸ– πŸ”¦ October is , or National Pork Month, and we are proud to celebrate it by spotlighting our Swine Council.

🐷 Since the late 90s, our Swine Council has gathered industry leaders, peers, and partners who engage in and receive support for practical, applicable, and scalable production solutions tailored to address the challenges facing today's pork industry.

πŸ‘‰Fun Fact: Pennsylvania is home to 3,000 pork producers and supports around 14,000 jobs!

πŸ– Thank you to all the hardworking farmers, caretakers, service professionals, veterinarians, live haulers, and many families who put high-quality, nutritious pork on tables across Pennsylvania and the globe.

USDA has reached an important milestone: 5,000 poultry biosecurity assessments completed since January 20, 2025.

These voluntary, on‑farm assessments help producers strengthen biosecurity practices and reduce the risk of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI).

The milestone reflects strong collaboration among producers, state partners, and APHIS teams working together to protect animal health.

Additionally, USDA may share up to 75% of the costs to fix the highest‑risk biosecurity concerns identified during these assessments - helping producers take action quickly and effectively.

Producers can request an assessment and learn more here:
