Fire Chief Dana Laplante and Captain Mike DiBiase recently obtained the Fire Officer 1 certification through Maine Fire Services Institute. Congratulations to them as well as the students from Oxford Fire/Rescue, Minot Fire/Rescue, Mechanic Falls Fire/Rescue, Rumford Fire, Old Orchard Beach Fire/Rescue and Winslow Fire/Rescue.

HELP SHAPE HARRISON'S FUTURE – COMPREHENSIVE PLAN PUBLIC WORKSHOP #3!

The Town of Harrison Comprehensive Plan Committee invites residents, property owners, and community members to join us for our 3rd Comprehensive Plan Public Workshop on Saturday, October 24, 2026!

As work continues on Harrison's 2027 Comprehensive Plan, we're looking for your input on the draft plan chapters through interactive discussions and activities.

This is another great opportunity to share your ideas, discuss community priorities, and help guide the future of Harrison!

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Public Safety in Harrison!

The Harrison Public Safety Committee had a particularly interesting and informative meeting last night, October 19, 2026!

During the meeting, Deputy Warren Day, the committee's representative from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, provided committee members and members of the public in attendance with an informational tour of his patrol cruiser.

Attendees had the opportunity to get an up-close look at the equipment, technology, and tools carried in a law enforcement vehicle, along with learning more about the resources deputies use while serving and protecting our communities.

Experiences like this provide a valuable opportunity for committee members and residents to gain a better understanding of the public safety services that support Harrison.

A special thank you to Deputy Day for taking the time to share his knowledge, answer questions, and provide this hands-on learning opportunity!
