ππΊπΈ 343 β WE WILL NEVER FORGET πΊπΈπ
Twenty-five years ago today, firefighters and first responders answered a call unlike any other.
On September 11, 2001, 343 firefighters made the ultimate sacrifice. Alongside them, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and other first responders ran toward unimaginable danger with one purpose: to help someone else.
They climbed stairwells while thousands were coming down. They entered buildings others were desperately trying to escape. They did what firefighters and first responders have always done when the alarm sounds β they answered the call.
Today, the Cornishville Fire Department pauses to honor their courage, their service, and their sacrifice.
We also remember all 2,977 lives lost that day β the innocent men, women, and children whose lives were taken, the families who never received the homecoming they expected, and the loved ones who have carried their absence for 25 years.
For those of us in the fire service, 343 is more than a number. It represents brothers who reported for duty, answered their final alarm, and never returned home.
Twenty-five years later, we still remember their names.
We still honor their sacrifice.
And we will continue to carry their legacy forward.
