I was honored to receive the 2026 Legislative Champion Award from the Connecticut Alliance of YMCAs! This was given in recognition of my commitment to the state's homeless population and to early childcare. The Director of the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA specifically cited my work as Ranking Member of the Housing Committee and supporting investments in the Early Child Care Endowment Fund.

I joined advocates and other members of the legislature's End Homelessness Caucus today to speak out against verbal harassment and physical attacks on homeless individuals in Milford and Bridgeport in recent weeks. In one case, swastikas were spraypainted on trees surrounding an encampment. All residents deserve safe communities. The Housing Committee has pushed year after year for more funding for homeless services, and Connecticut needs to do better to prioritize this issue.

This represents an increase of approximately 16% over the currently allowed overall revenues, and approximately 50% over currently allowed distribution revenues. According to the Application, revenues for the remainder of the four-year term would be calculated within the annual Rate Adjustment Mechanism (RAM) proceeding.

I was honored to deliver some remarks at Think Pink Monroe’s Pinkapalooza this weekend. The nonprofit helps Monroe families impacted by breast cancer. In addition to raising funds to help neighbors in need, the group also works to raise awareness about the importance of early detection. A events calendar can be found at ThinkPinkMonroe.com
