It was a great time attending the Made in Connecticut: 2026 Manufacturing Summit and seeing all the innovation, leadership, and manufacturing that takes place here in our state. The summit gives business leaders, professionals, and manufacturing executives the chance to discuss the future of manufacturing and the challenges that they face, including emerging technologies and economic shifts. As a state representative, I look forward to continuing to support policies that help promote business development and job growth in Connecticut.

A special thank you to everyone who helped make this summit a great opportunity to learn about the future of manufacturing in our state!

I stand with my colleagues in calling for a special session to suspend the gas tax in Connecticut. We need to help make our state more affordable for our residents and families, and this is one way we can provide some relief.

Connecticut Republican leaders are urging Governor Lamont and Democrats to suspend gas and diesel taxes through December 31.

Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, helping to stimulate our economy, provide jobs, and drive innovation. That's why I am happy to welcome Wild Raven Farm to our wonderful town of Oxford! Wild Raven Farm sells a range of items sourced from their farm in Connecticut, including herbal care products, plants, jewelry, and woodworking items. For items they can’t source from their farm, they purchase through the New England region, supporting local businesses and keeping their ingredients local.

Congratulations to Wild Raven Farm on their new store, and here’s to many years of success!

I recently had the amazing opportunity of touring American Green Fuels alongside Rep. Bronko and Rep. Marra. American Green Fuels works hard to be a world-class biodiesel producer, promoting energy security and environmental responsibility.

When biodiesel is used in a conventional diesel engine, it results in a reduction of unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and particulate matter emissions which helps to improve air quality. Overall, the average usage of biodiesel results in an 86% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to petroleum diesel.

Thank you to American Green Fuel’s team for taking the time to educate us on the benefits of biodiesel and show us around your amazing facility!

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is hosting free car seat checks across Connecticut in recognition of Child Passenger Safety Week. On Tuesday, September 22, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Griffin Hospital located in Derby will be hosting a free car seat check. It is by appointment only. To book a free appointment, please contact Cathi Kellett at [email protected]

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in Connecticut in 2024 there were 47 unrestrained children injured in a crash. Properly restraining your child can make a critical difference in the event of a crash.

Parents, guardians, and caregivers are encouraged to attend one of these free events to get valuable insight and hands-on guidance from certified passenger safety technicians to learn how to properly secure a child. Technicians will also check whether your car seat is appropriate for a child based on the child’s age and size and demonstrate how to properly use the seat.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend CBIA’s Understanding Connecticut's Economic Future event and hear from business leaders about the challenges and opportunities facing our state.

Events like this provide valuable insight into how we can work to create a stronger economy and opportunities for families and workers. Keeping our state affordable must remain a priority. By listening to the concerns of our business community we can work toward policies that promote job growth, reduce costs, and support our small businesses.

Thank you to the CBIA for hosting this important conversation and event!

I was grateful to be able to attend the Almost Autumn Gathering Business After Hours event yesterday in Oxford. Hosted by the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, the event offered local businesses, professionals, and leaders the chance to unwind and build new connections before the fall season begins. It was a great opportunity to showcase local businesses and strengthen our community. Thank you to everyone who helped put together this event!

On September 11, we pause to remember the innocent lives that were lost 25 years ago. We honor the first responders who ran towards danger and the American lives that were changed forever. May we always carry their stories forward and honor their memory. We will never forget. 🇺🇸
