Amazon's proposed Prime Air drone delivery operation in North Haven would be the first of its kind in Connecticut, and how we handle it will set the standard for drone delivery in communities across our state. Residents in places where this service already operates report constant drone traffic over their homes, noise audible indoors, and flights well below promised altitudes, along with concerns about privacy, safety, and lost jobs. Connecticut's wildlife is also potentially at risk. As drone delivery comes to Connecticut, it's important that the state take a thoughtful, careful approach, with real safeguards like protected no-fly zones, verified flight altitudes, and noise and wildlife monitoring, so our communities and natural resources are protected.

Last week, I had a wonderful time attending Stir the Pot at Mayberry Elementary School in East Hartford! 🍏🌶️🥕

It was inspiring to see students, educators, community members, and local partners come together to celebrate the impact of Farm to School initiatives. From touring the school garden to making pizza with local ingredients, the evening was a great reminder of how connecting our students with local food and hands-on food education can help them learn, grow, and thrive.

I’m grateful to the East Hartford Farm to School team, Handel Family Farm, and the CT Farm to School Collaborative for bringing our community together and highlighting the importance of investments like the CT Grown for CT Kids Grant.🍓🫐🫛✨

I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of CTDOT employee Elvin Hernandez, who was killed while working in behalf of our state's citizens. I offer my deepest condolences to his family, friends, and CTDOT colleagues.

This tragedy is a painful reminder that we must slow down, stay alert, and respect work zones so every worker can make it home safely to their loved ones.

New Funding Coming to Projects in East Hartford and Manchester 🎉✨

I’m proud to share that projects in both East Hartford and Manchester have been awarded funding through the Community Investment Fund (CIF), support that will drive real, lasting change in our communities.

There is no “loophole” when it comes to bigotry. I strongly support religious pluralism, and I strongly reject religious intolerance. Connecticut deserves leaders who stand against hatred, collective blame, and division, and who work to bring people together.

Yesterday was the grand opening of the Fairfield by Marriott TownPlace Suites and East Hartford Flex Space! 🎉

This much needed addition brings new hotel rooms to our region, along with coworking spaces, conference rooms, a golf simulator, and an indoor pool. I’m also grateful to the owners for giving back with a $5,000 donation to the East Hartford Soup Kitchen! Congratulations to the entire team!
