On October 9th, 2026, HFPD along with Lincoln Rural Fire Protection District was dispatched to a possible combine fire. Lincoln Rural was first on scene and radioed to us there was no active fire. They utilized a water can to extinguish some embers that was spotted behind the cab of the combine. When we arrived we utilized our hose reel to power wash the bean junk from the inside of the combine! Once it was determined there were no more hot spots or hot parts, our guys went from firefighters to combine technicians. Two of the guys farm and the other is a combine tech at the local implement. However we must give a shout out to the operator of the combine who recognized there was an issue from smelling smoke and shut the unit down immediately. That being said….he was able to save the machine! Awesome job by all!

This is the agenda for the upcoming meeting on Monday 9/14. This will be our annual insurance meeting with David Fulton from Compass Insurance.

On Saturday 9/5 we took our equipment over to our local training lot and did some pump training! It’s getting to be that time of year! The farmers are getting in the fields, Mother Nature doesn’t know when to shut the heat off and things are drying out along the roadways and interstate. Small embers can cause big problems.

We are prepared!

Enjoy the pics!

As always….Thank You for Your Support!!

Today at noon we will be attempting to sound the siren at the fire station. If you hear a strange loud sound….that could be it!

When the cat shoots back…..then it’s a problem!!

It’s time for our yearly reminder! Before you dial 911, ask yourself, is the cat shooting back?

This may be a bit lengthy…

First and foremost thank you to everyone that came out and supported us for our fireman’s dinner on Saturday night during the Hartsburg 155th Celebration. We couldn’t have asked for better weather! It was great seeing everyone enjoying everyone’s company! We enjoyed all the compliments we’ve received over the meal. Noah, Hayden and Zach have this chops down to a science.

We want to thank everyone that came to the First Annual Firehouse Bingo! I think everyone had a good time! I was having a great time calling the games. I especially enjoyed watching the intensity in the kids faces when they were getting close to a Bingo! We hope to do it again. Stay tuned for more details on that!

Lastly we’d like to thank the donors of our raffle prizes. We would like to thank St. Louis Cardinals for the donation of the game tickets, the Chicago White Sox for the autographed baseball and the Chicago Bears for the autographed football. We would also like to thank Daniel Emily Coers for the donation of the Lincoln Park District Pool passes along with the nice beach basket to go along with it. The 32”TV, the Igloo cooler and the car wash kit were all donated by the fire department. We are hoping next year to expand on our raffle. However, this was a great start and we can’t thank the above mentioned enough for their generosity!

Thank you again for all your support!
