After some additional evaluations, we have a new proposed realignment for County Road 53. Do you have any additional thoughts or concerns on this new realignment?

[Image description: CR 53 realignment wraps around the east side of the proposed Wild Horse Reservoir Project from existing CR53 to Dog Chief Trail near Caddo Rd., across Hopi Trail to Chickasaw Rd., down Chickasaw Rd. to Chimapavi Trail, and then merges with existing CR53 south of the project.]

In August, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Water Quality Control Division (WQCD) sent out a public notice that they had deemed Aurora Water’s Individual Authorization application for the proposed Project to be complete. The completeness determination is a procedural finding and does not represent a decision on the project itself.

The formal public notice was published in the Water Quality Information Bulletin on September 4, 2026. This formally opened the public comment period for Aurora Water’s Individual Authorization application for the proposed Wild Horse Reservoir Project.
