Last Friday, every Hartselle High ninth grader sat down one-on-one with a faculty member, staff member, or even a member of our Board of Education to talk through their first report card of high school.
These conversations covered more than grades on a page. Students learned how a GPA is calculated and why it matters, how each semester builds toward graduation, and what they can do now to set themselves up for the goals they have in mind.
Freshman year lays the foundation for everything that follows, and research consistently shows that students who stay on track in ninth grade are far more likely to graduate. We want every student to understand where they stand and to know there's a caring adult in their corner.
Thank you to every teacher, staff member, and board member who gave their time to make these conversations happen.
