🚒 GOOD NEWS FOR NEW YORK’S VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS & EMS PROVIDERS! 🚑
Volunteering is about more than answering calls. It’s about serving our neighbors, supporting our community, and being there when people need us most. Now, there’s another reason to consider joining the volunteer fire and EMS service!
New legislation will increase New York State’s personal income tax credit for eligible volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers beginning with the 2027 tax year.
💰 What does this mean?
- Individual credit increases from $200 to $800
- Married couples’ credit increases from $400 to $1,600
- The increased credit can be claimed when filing taxes in 2028.
This is a great opportunity to recognize the commitment of our volunteer first responders and encourage more people to get involved!
