New Orleans Saints player Justin Reid joined us at Joseph C. Moscona School for a special My Cause My Cleats event with the American Heart Association - Louisiana. Students learned hands-on CPR, heard Justin share why he partners with AHA, and reflected on his personal experiences with heart health.

Superintendent Dr. James Gray spoke about the importance of JP Schools and community partners offering meaningful out-of-classroom experiences that support student health and growth.

Thanks to Justin Reid, the Saints, the AHA, and Moscona School for making this event a success. The AHA also donated CPR kits to the school to continue educating students on heart health and safety.

Vikram Karri is a first grade student at Airline Park Academy for Advanced Studies who has attended the school since prekindergarten. Vikram enjoys recess, PE, spelling tests and especially science experiments! Outside of school, he loves playing soccer, learning to play the drums, and digging in his garden.

Vikram understands that doing well in school is important because learning new things now can make life easier in the future. He also enjoys helping others and considers himself a little bit smart, although we think he's pretty smart!

When he grows up, Vikram would like to work with digging equipment or become a scientist. His interest in exploring, experimenting and figuring out how things work makes both careers exciting possibilities.

“I like learning new things because it makes things easier when I grow up!” -Vikram Karri
