“Deadly Intentions” returns from depot work at Tinker! Rocking a brand new tail flash👀

Flown home by a 9th BS crew, this will most likely be the last time it’s flown by anyone outside of the 337th TES. Once Test gets their hands on it, it’ll begin its transition into a test aircraft.

337th TES jets are configured differently from the standard operational B-1 fleet, with specialized instrumentation, wiring, data-collection equipment, and other test-specific gear installed throughout the aircraft. Bright orange wiring is universally used in prototype and test aircraft to easily distinguish temporary instrumentation and data-collection circuits from the permanent factory wiring.

Once “Deadly Intentions” gets into the hands of Test, it’ll essentially become a flying laboratory for evaluating new systems and modifications rather than serving as a normal line jet for the operational squadrons.
