Thank you Reno County courthouse staff!! It was a very good experience for the students. They learned quite a bit! Also a big thank you to Reno County Youth Services.

This Thanksgiving Holiday, make sure to buckle up, Kansans.
Beginning November 21 through November 27, 2024, the Haven Police Department will join the Reno County Sheriff's Office and many other law enforcement agencies across the state in the Kansas THANKSGIVING SAFE ARRIVAL traffic enforcement campaign. Although all Kansas Traffic Laws will be enforced, extra attention will be paid to enforcing occupant protection laws.

Let's play a game, shall we? This one is called, "Name That Scam!"

We have had at least two residents in Haven report a scam this morning. This one is a "Hey, you have a warrant scam." This time, however they have upped their game. They emailed a copy of a subpoena for federal court. They always have your name and address, and have now begun spoofing the number to Reno County Sheriff's Department.
If you actually have a warrant, there won't be a phone call. We won't ask you to pay in an odd fashion (itunes cards, google cards, or kiosks) We won't yell at you. Law enforcement will simply just come pick you up. If it feels like a scam, it probably is.

We give you permission to hang up on the caller, it's ok. If by chance we DID call you, we'll just stop by.

As a reminder, NEVER give out personal information or bank information. Your address and phone number are public information, so don't let that fool you.
