Happy first snow of the year!
The roads out today are slick! If you don’t have to go out, please don’t. If you have to, be sure to slow down and turn your headlights on. Remember, auto headlights do not turn on with snow and fog. If you have 4x4 or all wheel drive, remember that this does not give you better stopping ability. Slow down, drive with caution and be prepared.
In your car this time of your it’s always good to have a phone charger, a charged phone, coats and blankets, gloves and a full tank of fuel. What else do you keep in your vehicles for bad weather to keep you and your families safe?

Join us this weekend at Dillon's Marketplace in Hutchinson for our 5th Annual Fill the Ambulance Food Drive! Food or cash donations go directly to the The Salvation Army Hutchinson, KS to assist in filling their Christmas Food boxes.
With the heavy fog visibility is at less than 1/8 mile and worse in many areas. Please be sure to slow down, turn your headlights on even if they are automatic. Pay attention at intersections and stay focused on the roads. It is better to be 5 minutes late getting somewhere than it is risking it and getting in a wreck.
Also as always, when you see emergency lights move over, if they are driving, calmly and carefully move to the right and come to a stop when it is safe to do so. If they are parked on the road ways slow down, move over and give them plenty of room. One distracted driver can hurt a lot of people if they wreck into emergency vehicles already at an incident
K&O RAILROAD HAS ADVISED OF THE FOLLOWING CROSSING SIGNALS BEING DISABLED IN HUTCHINSON:
PLUM/ACERS
S MAPLE/E AVE C
S MONROE/W AVE C
Unknown when the crossings will be fully functional again. Please use caution when at these crossings and look both directions for any train traffic.
All other previous crossings that were disabled are functional again.
Happy Halloween everyone! Remember to slow down and watch the roads as folks are out with this kids. Enjoy your trick or treating!
Pay attention every day but especially today. Be sure to slow down and check the railroad crossings.
There will be several railroad crossings across the county that will not be activated due to K&O RR doing maintenance on the crossings. Please use caution when using these railroad crossings and look both way for trains in the area since the signals will not be functional. The railroad advised that they would be down most of the day. We will advise you when the crossing signals are active again.
