When i left work shortly after 7 a.m., it was just starting to snow in Havre. It doesn't look like we will be getting anywhere near what the central part of Montana is getting!

As of 6 AM, Sunday, October 11th the NWS in Great Falls has measured 8.2" of snowfall. Snowfall amounts will vary drastically from elevation to elevation over short distances, in addition from grassy/elevated surfaces to roadways/sidewalks (which have the ability to hold more heat). If you plan to travel this morning be prepared for changing road conditions.

Our friend, Meterologist Erik Johnson, shared this earlier today. Not a good day for tours. But a great day to read or watch your favorite shows!!

Take care, all

Well, there go my tours! Looks like later this week, they may end due to snow. I will share Ryan's forecasts as the week progresses.

LOWER ELEVATION SNOW NEXT WEEKEND (10/10/26-10/11/26)? ☃️

It’s still a week out, so a lot can and will change. However, there is increasing confidence in a significant cool-down next weekend (highs back in the 30s and 40s on Sunday), along with the potential for widespread snow in the lower elevations.

We’ll keep you updated on the cool-down and potential snow as the week goes on. There are still a lot of variables in play, including how much moisture is available, how cold temperatures get, and how quickly the cool-down occurs. All of these factors will determine how much precipitation falls as snow.

For now, just know that accumulating snow is possible in the lower elevations next weekend, specifically in the Saturday night through Monday morning timeframe.
