Please keep Trooper Phillips family and his fellow officers in your thoughts today. Yesterday was a heartbreaking day for our state, as we lost a Kentucky State Police trooper in the line of duty. More than that, he was a husband, a father, and a son. Please keep his family in your prayers during this difficult time. Rest easy, brother; we’ll take it from here.

On Labor Day, I received reports of individuals soliciting funds downtown on behalf of a non-profit organization. While the City of Hawesville and I, as Police Chief, fully support non-profit initiatives, I had to suspend these activities as they were not registered or coordinated with our office. I request the professional courtesy of notifying local officials in advance of such events, which allows me to appropriately brief dispatch, the Mayor, and the City Council regarding potential inquiries. Furthermore, advance notification enables us to advise the public on the group’s identity and location, thereby addressing safety concerns and ensuring transparent communication.
