🏑 Buckhorns Embracing the Challenge in New Division
The Wallenpaupack Area High School Field Hockey team is proving that success is about more than the scoreboard. As the Buckhorns make the jump from Division II to Division I competition, they are embracing a season defined by growth, determination, and resilience.
After an impressive 15-5 season in 2025, this year's younger roster has faced new challenges and tougher competition. While victories have been harder to come by, the team continues to demonstrate tremendous heart, perseverance, and a commitment to improving every day.
One of the season's highlights came on September 19, when the Lady Buckhorns earned a hard-fought victory over Honesdale. The win showcased the team's potential when they communicate, connect, and compete together as one.
Led by captains Ava Hoffmann, Ava Caruso, Sophie Fontano, and Alyssa Galasso, the team continues to build chemistry, strengthen its passing and possession skills, and adapt to new strategies. Along the way, these student-athletes are learning the value of trust, teamwork, and working toward a common goal.
Every challenge presents an opportunity for growth, not only as field hockey players but as young women. Through adversity, they are learning to believe in themselves, support one another, and keep moving forward together.
