Central Volunteer Fire Department offers its condolences to our brothers and sisters at Forest Volunteer Fire Department, Northern Wayne Fire Department and Pat’s family and friends.

It is with great sadness that the Forest Volunteer Fire Department announces the passing of Past Chief, Past President, and Life Member Pat Russell.

Pat dedicated many years of service to our department and our community, serving in numerous leadership roles and leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

We extend our deepest condolences to Pat’s family and friends during this difficult time. His dedication, friendship, and service will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Chief. We’ll take it from here.

Twenty-five years have passed. Today we mourn the dead, honor the bravery of the responders, medical professionals, and civilians whose lives were altered by the events of September 11, 2001.

There is a quote by the Roman poet Virgil on the wall of the 9/11 Memorial and Museum that reads, “No day shall erase you from the memory of time.”

Never forget.
