Lt. Fox, Sgt. Ragone, Det. Sgt. Morgan, Special Police Officer Carey (Demarest PD), and Haworth EMS working together when every second mattered. Well done.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the runner and his family. We wish him a full and speedy recovery.

๐ฌ๐ข๐จ ๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ง: Swift-moving responders revived a 74-year-old participant who collapsed during the Haworth 5K.
Haworth Police Sgt. Gianluca Ragone saw the man go down while nearing the finish line on Haworth Avenue yesterday (Sat., Sept. 19th), Lt. Justin Fox told Independent Online News this morning.
Ragine called for emergency medical assistance and rushed to the victim's side, the lieutenant side.
The man was "unresponsive, not breathing, and in cardiac arrest," said Fox, who was among the responders.
Also immediately responding were borough police Detective Sgt. James Morgan and members of the Haworth Volunteer Ambulance Corps, including Matthew Carey, who's also a Demarest firefighter and special police officer.
"Lifesaving measures were immediately initiated," Fox said.
HVAC Capt. Andy Reithmayr did chest compressions before a defibrillator was used.
One shock got the man breathing, although he initially remained unresponsive, Fox said.
The group continued care, the lieutenant said, and the victim eventually regained consciousness.
An HVAC ambulance took him to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.
