🌧️ A little rain didn’t stop the fall fun!

🎃Last Wednesday, our Choices groups were out at the pumpkin patch at the United Methodist Church of Mount Kisco, helping run the sales table and bringing plenty of fall spirit despite the weather. 💙

👻🎃 Our Hawthorne building was full of Halloween spirit at our annual Halloween Dance this past weekend! From ghosts and goblins to train conductors, wizards, and sailors, everyone brought their own festive flair! 🧙‍♂️⚓

More than 30 participants enjoyed a chilly October day filled with music, arts and crafts, bingo, and plenty of delicious comfort food, including pizza, chicken fingers, and mac and cheese! 🍕🧡

The best part? Spending time together, sharing laughs, and making memories!

🎃 Last week we were happy to welcome New York State Assemblywoman Amy R. Paulin for a tour of one of our residential homes!

With Halloween decorations setting a festive scene, Assemblymember Paulin had the opportunity to meet one of our residents and connect with our dedicated staff. 💙

During the visit, CEO Tibi Guzmán, Barry Clark, Executive Director of The Arc Westchester Foundation, and Margaret Vogt, Foundation Board member and parent, discussed the challenges nonprofits face, from staffing shortages and funding cuts to the ongoing work of maintaining our homes and facilities while providing quality support and services.

Thank you, Assemblywoman Paulin, for visiting our community, taking the time to listen, and learning more about the needs of The Arc Westchester and the people and families we support. We appreciate your continued support!

Our Daycation group enjoyed a meal and time together at our Hawthorne location before heading to Memorial Field in Mount Vernon to cheer on Westchester Soccer Club as they took on California’s AV Alta FC. The best part? Cheering Westchester on to victory! 🙌

What a great day at the 12th Annual Mt. Pleasant Day Street Fair this past Sunday! 🎉

The community came together for an afternoon filled with local food and businesses, live music, free rides, mini golf, face painting, fire department demonstrations and plenty of family fun.

Thank you to the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce, the Hawthorne & Thornwood Fire Departments, event sponsors, local businesses and everyone who helped make this year’s street fair such a great community celebration! 💙
