FINAL UPDATE: Thank you NDOW, Sheriff Ferguson, Lieutenant Barnes, Sergeant Andrada, and Deputy Ransome. The bear was safely and successfully trapped and is being released back into the wild.

UPDATE: as of 8:34 am- Thank you NDOW for reaching out. They stated they have two Game Wardens in route with a two hour eta.

UPDATE: We reached out to the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) regarding the bear, but NDOW stated they currently have no available personnel or traps to assist. The lack of support from state agencies in these situations is incredibly frustrating, and it highlights a broader issue: something needs to be done about rural areas being neglected. While we find this response disappointing, we are actively looking into alternative steps and follow-ups to ensure the situation is handled appropriately.

SAFETY ALERT: A bear has been spotted in the area of Lyons Park, nearby schools, and the Boys & Girls Club. Please do NOT approach the bear. If see, report it immediately to our office at 775-945-2434.

Pranked the deputies by changing their walk-up songs! They didn’t even notice—so we’re letting them find out right here along with the rest of the internet. 😂🔊

No wonder they always run when they see us social media girls coming! 🏃💨🎶
