Last week, our 5th grade class went to Rural Ameritowne! RA is a life-like mock town that helps students learn about economics and free enterprise. Prior to attending, students had to apply and interview for their positions, learn about checking accounts, as well as work with their business to develop advertisements and budgets. Our students did a great job and represented Haxtun well!

The Haxtun NHS is hosting a Halloween Costume Drive! Please bring your gently-used, and washed, Halloween costumes to either the High School or Elementary front office! Today, October 16, 2026, there will be a table with a donation box at the football field near the concessions stand. The cut-off date for drop-off is October 28, 2026, which is also when the costumes will be available for anyone who is in need! They will be set up in the high school’s gym lobby throughout the day. Thank you for supporting NHS, the community, and for your generosity!

Last May, Akron and Haxtun students traveled to Orlando to compete together in Cook Around the World. During that time, Akron tragically lost fourth grader, Parkyr Cline. We are coming together to raise funds for a memorial buddy bench in Parkyr's honor.
