🚒 October is Fire Prevention Month – Charging Into Fire Safety!

Northern Lakes Fire District firefighters are visiting elementary schools throughout Hayden, Rathdrum, Twin Lakes, and Garwood, sharing important fire safety messages with over 1,500 kindergarten, second-grade, and fifth-grade students!

From home fire escape plans to rechargeable battery safety, we’re helping students build lifelong fire safety habits.

🔥 Parents and families: Keep the conversation going at home! Review your family’s fire escape plan, test your smoke alarms, and talk with your kids about safe charging habits.

Fire prevention starts with education, and safety starts with YOU!

Our community is growing, and so is the demand for emergency services.

Northern Lakes Fire District is responding to nearly 7,000 calls a year. As our area continues to grow, maintaining reliable emergency services remains a priority.

This November, voters will have the opportunity to consider a proposed levy increase. For a home valued at $400,000 with a homeowner's exemption, the estimated increase is approximately $16 per year.

Watch the video to learn more about the proposal and what it means for our community.
