The Hayward Mountain Bike Club Team competed at Mt. Morris in the Gnarly Nordic Race, finishing 1st as a team on the day! 👏👏 Adding this to their 3 other top finishes for the season, landed them in 1st Place in the Wisconsin NICA League Division 1 Northern Conference! 🤩

Several of our Hayward Athletes were awarded Individual Conference Honors:
🏅 Marin Patnode - 3rd place, Varsity Girls
🏅 Olivia Swift - 5th place, JV III Girls
🏅 Elliana Bacon - 5th place, JV II Girls
🏅 Brecken Turner - 1st place, JV II Boys
🏅 Kajsa Nelson - 5th place, Freshman Girls
🏅 Jackson Wolf - 3rd place, Freshman Boys

The team will compete at Trek Trails in Waterloo, WI, on October 25 for the state Championship! Good Luck to the 29 athletes (Middle and High School) on their final race!!

STEAM activities have started in the middle school library! Our students are putting their creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to work with fun STEAM-inspired challenges!!

Current activities include:
🏗️ Build It Tall! - Students use popsicle sticks and clothespins to design and build the tallest tower they can.
👻 Make It Haunted! - Students create a video that makes an ordinary school object seem spooky and haunted.
🕸️ Haunted Maze! - Students use their digital design skills to create their own haunted maze in CoSpaces.
🎲 Games/Mis. Activities! - Students may also choose from many board/card games, coloring, LEGOs, circuits, puzzles, etc.

High School Advanced Art students spent their time during First Quarter giving the RELM Skate Park a makeover. 🛹 They updated some of the ramps with bright colors and new designs, enjoying the time outside and covering graffiti in the process. 🎨

A big thank-you to Northwest Connection Family Resources for visiting Ms. Metcalf’s Parenting class! 👶 Students learned about car seat safety, infant CPR, and how to respond when an infant is choking.
