MADISON COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM - RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

This Madison County School System campus social media page aims to share important information about the district and campus with the public and engage in an open and respectful dialogue. To help us accomplish this goal, we ask that you abide by the following guidelines:

- Stay on topic. This page is dedicated to educating students in the Madison County School System and this school. Comments are welcome as long as they directly relate to a topic.

- Have a question for a specific employee? Contact them privately. Fans should not expect responses to every question or comment on this page.

🤧 Cold & Flu Season: Help Us Keep MCSS Healthy! 🤧

As we enter cold and flu season, Madison County Schools wants to share a few important ways we can work together to keep our students, staff, and school communities healthy!

Regular handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and keeping children home when they are sick can make a big difference in preventing the spread of illness.

🏠 When Should Your Child Stay Home? 🏠

🌡️ Fever (100°F or higher): Students must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before returning to school.

🤒 Vomiting or Diarrhea: Students must be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before returning.

💊 Antibiotics: For illnesses requiring exclusion from school, students must remain home for at least 24 hours after their first dose.

🏫 Illness at School: If your child becomes ill during the school day, please make arrangements for pickup within 30 minutes of being contacted.

We understand that caring for a sick child can be stressful for families and often requires adjustments to family schedules, and we appreciate your help in preventing the spread of illness throughout our schools.

If your child is showing signs of illness, please keep them home until they are well enough to return. Our school nurses are always available to help answer questions about illness-related attendance guidelines.

Mrs. Hoffmann’s Psychology students took learning to a whole new level by creating life-size models of the nervous & endocrine systems! From neurons & neurotransmitters to hormones & glands, students got to work hands-on with the systems that help control how we think, feel, & behave. 🧠🫀🧬
