We are honoring the life and legacy of our longtime former colleague, Lori Phillips.
Lori dedicated 20 years of service to Bringing Families Together, beginning as one of our earliest team members and helping shape the foundation of the organization we know today. Her compassion, humor, and deep commitment to children and families left a lasting impact on so many.
We invite you to read a tribute celebrating Lori’s life, her work, and the many memories she created with staff and families over the years (including many photos):

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Lori’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Reunification Month reminds us that fostering is never just about one child—it’s about the whole family system working toward healing, stability and connection. 💜
When foster parents step in, they provide more than care for a child. They offer patience during uncertainty, consistency during change and support that helps make reunification possible when it is safe and appropriate.
Behind every reunification story is a network of people showing up in different ways—parents doing the hard work of change, children holding onto hope and foster parents helping create the space where healing can happen.
At Bringing Families Together, we honor the role foster parents play in strengthening families and supporting safe reunification whenever possible.
Fostering truly is about more than fostering a child—it’s about strengthening a family. 💜

June is Reunification Month, a time to recognize families who have worked hard to rebuild trust, strengthen relationships and come back together in safe and meaningful ways.
Reaching reunification is rarely a single moment. It grows out of time, effort and support—parents doing the work of change, children navigating big emotions and caring adults showing up consistently to support stability and healing along the way.
Foster parents are a vital part of that journey. The care they provide gives children safety and consistency during a season of uncertainty, while also helping support healthy transitions when it is time for children to safely return home.
At Bringing Families Together, we recognize reunification as a meaningful form of family restoration. It reflects growth, accountability and the possibility of rebuilding connections when families are given support and opportunity.
We are grateful for the families who have reached this milestone and for everyone who has supported them along the way.
Reunification Month is also a reminder that progress often happens in steps, and every step forward matters. 💜
