Great visit at the station today from our friend, and friend of the fire service, Congressman Joe Courtney. The Congressman, Deputy Chief Huppe, Town Council Vice Chair Jan Lawrence, Town Manager Marc Strange, and I met to discuss the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant we were recently awarded, firefighter cancer prevention, as well as a number of other fire service related topics. Proud to be a part of such a great team and community.

Walnut Road Hebron Structure Fire
The Hebron Fire Department was dispatched on 9/19/26 at 10:08 PM to Walnut Road in Hebron for a reported structure fire that was called in by a neighbor. Did you know that the percentage of Wildland Urban Interface and intermix in Connecticut, the area where residential areas meet and are intertwined with wildland vegetation, surpasses that of California, Idaho, Montana, Tennessee, and Colorado combined?! Please take a few minutes to watch the following video, made possible through a grant from the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. This video features Chief Christopher Renshaw of the UConn Fire Department and was directed and produced by our very own Matt Troy.

This past weekend we hosted and presented a two day basic pump operator program for our personnel and our immediate mutual aid partners. Joint training opportunities such as this allow our personnel to cross train on each other's equipment and directly interact with each other. Thank you to the Andover, Bolton, Glastonbury, and Marlborough Fire Departments for joining us, we look forward to the next one!
