Heads up, folks. We had a water main break this afternoon. Service is back on, but you might see some discoloration as things clear. If your water looks cloudy or brown, run the cold tap for a few minutes until it clears. Thanks for your patience while we got it fixed.

We have a water main leak on Perryman Bridge Rd south of the interstate. We will have the water off on part of New Harmony Rd., Perryman Bridge Rd., and all of River Rd while we are repairing it. We will restore water as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.

The water department will have Osbourne Street closed at the end close to Bedwell Street today Wednesday June 24, 2026 to install service taps. We are sorry for any inconvenience. We will reopen as soon as possible.

The water works will have Bells Mill Road closed from the high school towards Mcalpin Street, to install sewer taps to the two new homes being built. We will reopen as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.

Heflin Water is working on a water line main break on Brandt Place. Brandt Place will be shut down during repairs. Water service in the north end of Heflin will be interrupted during repairs. Water service will be restored as quick as possible. Thanks for your patience.

Crews are back in town working to rehab the sewer line on 78 W from Gabe's Auto Spa to the sewer lagoon. Video Industrial is doing the work. If you see black and yellow trucks in the area, that is what is going on.

As we welcome the New Year, I want to take a moment to thank our dedicated employees for their hard work, commitment, and professionalism. Their efforts every day are what keep our water and sewer systems operating safely and reliably for our community.
2025 was an exciting and productive year for Heflin Water Works & Sewer Board. We began a major upgrade to our wastewater lagoon and started rehabilitation projects within our collection system. These improvements are being funded by over $3 million in grant funding, meaning no cost to our ratepayers.
In addition, we were awarded a $9 million grant for a new water treatment plant. We are currently working through the design phase of this important project, which will serve our community for decades to come.
Our Board of Directors remains fully committed to providing Heflin with the safest, most dependable water and sewer utilities possible, while also working hard to keep rates affordable for our customers.
Thank you to our employees, our board members, and the citizens of Heflin for your continued trust and support. We look forward to another great year serving our community.
