The Hemet Chamber of Commerce formed the Hemet Fire Department on July 29, 1908. The newly formed department consisted of 12 volunteers, a 2-wheel hose cart, nozzles, buckets, axes, 2 fire extinguishers, and a 30-foot extension ladder. The first fire station was on the northwest corner of Front Street and Florida Avenue, now part of State Street. Chief History

Last week Hemet Fire donated its old fire engine for use in Hemet Unified School District's 1st Responder Pathway Program. We are grateful to be a part of molding our future first responders.
