National Coffee with a Cop!!!

A huge thank you to McDonald's South for hosting Henderson Police Department today for National Coffee with a Cop!!

We had a fantastic time connecting, answering questions, and sharing great conversations with everyone who stopped by.

Our new recruits jump started their customer service skills by helping out at the drive thru windows before heading off to the academy this Sunday for 18 weeks of training. Lieutenant Lehman jumped right alongside them to work the windows as well.

Officer McConnell brought out our newest K9 to visit with the community and, of course, enjoy a little McDonald's.

Thank you again to McDonald's for always opening your doors and supporting the Henderson Police Department. Most of all, thank you to our wonderful community who came out to chat and make a great start of our day!!!

Protecting our community takes teamwork, vigilance, and the right tools.

Thanks to quick thinking, proactive patrolling, and assistance from our Flock Safety camera network. Our officers safely took a stalker off the streets and kept a domestic violence victim safe.

When our officers responded to a call on Lakeview Drive regarding a domestic disturbance, they knew timing was everything. The victim reported an ex-boyfriend, who had an active Kentucky Interpersonal Protective Order (IPO) against him and had previously broken into her apartment earlier in the day, was currently stalking her and headed toward her home.

While officers searched the surrounding area, dispatch confirmed the suspect had an active arrest warrant for 2nd Degree Burglary and IPO violations.
Officers immediately turned to our Flock Safety camera system. Within minutes, a license plate match alerted officers to the suspect’s vehicle near the Ellis Park main entrance. Responding quickly to the location, officers found the suspect still inside his vehicle and took him into custody without further incident before he could reach the victim. He was transported to Henderson County Detention Center.

Our Flock cameras don’t replace good policing, they enhance it. By giving our officers real time lead information, this technology helps prevent dangerous situations from escalating and ensures wanted individuals are held accountable. This is an example of how this technology serves as a force multiplier, helping our officers act fast, locate wanted individuals, and protect vulnerable members of our community before a situation escalates.

HAPPY OCTOBER, HENDERSON!!
With October officially underway, Halloween season in Henderson is already in full swing. From trunk-or-treats and local festivals to neighborhood trick-or-treating later this month, there will be plenty of little ghost, goblins, and superheroes out on our streets.
The Henderson Police Department wants to make sure everyone stays safe while enjoying the events. Whether you're driving, hosting trick-or-treaters, or heading out with your family, keep all safety reminders in mind.
Watch for pedestrians, drive slow in neighborhoods, eliminate distractions, be cautious at driveways and alleys, increase visibility, stay on sidewalks, cross at corners, stick together, check all treats.

Let's work together to keep Henderson safe and fun for everyone this fall.

If you’re coming back to Henderson from Evansville, be safe and have patience due to traffic almost backed up to Riverside.

Update: semi was able to get moving slow and get moved over. Traffic should be moving again soon.

On top of the Southbound bridge being down to one lane, there is a semi broke down on the bridge causing traffic backup. Officers are on scene and a wrecker is in route.

Prayers to our brother and his entire family.

Prayers to our brother and his entire family.

Today, we face one of the most difficult moments an agency can endure as we announce the loss of one of our own. Trooper Hayden Phillips, Unit 369, made the ultimate sacrifice while
patrolling I-65 in Warren County. He was assigned to Post 3 Bowling Green and was a graduate of Cadet Class 103. His dedication to duty and commitment to the commonwealth will not
be forgotten.
Our hearts break for Trooper Phillips’ family, loved ones, and fellow troopers as we grieve this tremendous loss. We will carry his memory with us, honor the life he lived and the badge he wore, and stand together as an agency to support this family in the days ahead.
-Colonel Phillip Burnett, Jr.

Community Success Story

Yesterday, an elderly man with a medical condition went missing from French Lick, IN, driving a vehicle that concerned family reported to their local police. Thanks to Flock Alert technology, today the Henderson Police Department received an alert that the vehicle had recently passed one of our Flock camera locations. Henderson Dispatch relayed the information to officers so they could respond to the general area and be on the lookout for a vehicle matching the description. The vehicle passed another Flock camera, sending another alert to Henderson Dispatch.
Within minutes of getting the second alert, officers were able to respond to the general area, locating the man, who was disoriented and didn’t know where he was. EMS quickly responded, ensuring he received necessary medical care. His family was relieved and grateful to have their loved one safe.

This is just one example of how Flock helps our police serve and protect by providing crucial, timely information that saves lives.

We’re proud to have Flock as a powerful tool in keeping our community safe!
