Lane Closure on Southbound U.S. 41 Bridge in Henderson Extended
Inspection-related activities continue Monday evening

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 28, 2026) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet began a follow-up inspection of the southbound U.S. 41 Twin Bridge in Henderson County today.

The single-lane closure that was implemented this morning will remain in place overnight Monday as crews complete inspection-related activities and analysis of inspection data.

Temporary repairs were made to the bridge bearings in late August, allowing the southbound bridge to fully reopen to traffic. Permanent repairs remain scheduled for later this year once the necessary materials can be fabricated.

Motorists should use caution when traveling through the area, obey posted traffic control devices and allow additional time for travel while the lane restriction remains in place.

KYTC appreciates the traveling public's patience and cooperation while routine bridge inspection and maintenance activities are completed.

🚨 Severe Weather Preparedness Reminder🌩️

Henderson County Emergency Management recently shared an important reminder about outdoor warning sirens and severe weather safety.

🔊 Outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people who are OUTDOORS of an immediate threat, such as a tornado warning or dangerous weather.

They are NOT intended to be your primary source of weather alerts while indoors.

To stay safe, emergency management officials recommend having at least four ways to receive severe weather alerts, including:

✅ NOAA Weather Radio
✅ Wireless Emergency Alerts on your cell phone
✅ Local television or radio broadcasts
✅ A trusted weather app with notifications enabled

Being prepared before severe weather strikes can make all the difference. Take a few minutes today to make sure your alert methods are working and that your family knows what to do if severe weather occurs.

Stay weather aware, stay informed, and stay safe. ⛈️
