Learn all about arachnids with ecoEXPLORE at the library this month! The NC Arboretum ecoEXPLORE program will share about the many different types of arachnids, where they live, what they eat, and more, with three chances to attend:
Wednesday, October 14th- 4pm at the Main Library
Thursday, October 15th- 3:30pm at the Fletcher Library
Tuesday, October 20th- 3:30pm at the Edneyville Library
These sessions are geared towards children ages 5-13. Call your preferred library for details.

🎉📚 Congratulations to the 2026 Civic Excellence in Innovation Award Winners!
We’re excited to share that Henderson County Public Library’s Mobile Library has been selected as one of North Carolina’s 11 outstanding projects recognized by the and Civic Federal Credit Union for the 2026 Excellence in Innovation Awards!
Across our large, mountainous, semi‑rural county, the Mobile Library is helping bridge the gap — bringing books, Wi‑Fi, library cards, learning opportunities, and community connection directly to residents. With monthly stops at schools, parks, and events, the Mobile Library has already made:

• 85+ community visits

• 4,000+ residents served

• 3,100+ items borrowed

• 100+ new library cards issued

And this is just the beginning! The Mobile Library is helping ensure that everyone — everywhere — has access to literacy, learning, and the joy of reading, strengthening community partnerships all across Henderson County.
