Roads back open

‼️NOTICE‼️

N. 5th between Oak drive and Elm street will be closed to THRU traffic. A new culvert will be installed across this road way. This stretch of road is part of the upcoming overlay project. We will update this post when the road is back open to traffic.

The Henryetta Water Maintenance Crew is currently working a main line repair near Genevieve and Maxine. If you live near this location you may experience low water pressure and/or cloudy or discolored water. The crew will be flushing lines as needed when the repair is complete.

A repair to a storm drain was made at the intersection of 9th and Ragan. The culverts along 9th street dump into a 60” clay tile storm drain, the steel pipe that was there had deteriorated and created a sink hole. It was replaced with HDPE plastic pipe and was encapsulated with flowable fill. This repair was patched this morning and back open to traffic.

The first dumpster is being set for our city wide clean up. Dumpsters will be available from 8-5 today. Brush and limbs will be accepted this year. We have also partnered with DEQ to accept tires off the rim at this event as well.
The dumpsters will be available from 8-12 tomorrow morning if you’re unable to make it today.

Louise between 4th and 6th is back open to traffic. Equipment and trucks will remain in the area the next couple of days cleaning the site up.

Don’t forget our city wide clean up event next weekend, ( 9-25-26/9-27-26) we will be accepting limbs and brush at this year’s event. We have also partnered with DEQ to accept tires for this event as well!

Work continues at Louise between 4th and 6th street. The old corrugated metal culverts had began deteriorating and collapsing. The base will continue to be prepared and the inlet side of the creek will be cleared to allow water to flow more freely. Replacing the corrugated culverts will be two 40’ HDPE plastic pipes. This should greatly extend the life of this crossing and with the added length will also add width to the roadway. Once installed they will be secured with flowable fill concrete. This road is expected to be completed some time next week. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any convenience this may cause.

The trees have been trimmed back along 9th street hill to allow clearance for the new lighting project. We recently acquired a Fecon tree saw attachment for our skid steer. This attachment made quick work of the over hang. Durning the fall and winter months this attachment will be making rounds around town periodically removing the overhang from numerous streets.
