Last night, we had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate our amazing Deer Chase Elementary Teacher of the Year, Ms. Mathis, at the annual Teacher of the Year Banquet! 💚

We are so proud to recognize an educator who goes above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of our students each day. Her passion for teaching, dedication to student success, and commitment to excellence truly represent what it means to be a Deer Chase Trailblazer! 🌟

Picture Day at Deer Chase Elementary is Tuesday, October 20, 2026!

⏰ Pictures begin at 7:30 a.m.! Please make sure your child arrives to school on time.

🦌 ALL students, faculty, and staff are expected to take an individual picture for the yearbook. Class pictures will also be taken!

👕 Please do NOT wear green. Jostens uses a green screen, which can cause green clothing to disappear in photos.

💻 NEW THIS YEAR: JostensPIX! Parents MUST create an account to receive notifications when photos are ready.

Our Deer Chase Community Garden is bringing learning to LIFE! 🌿🥬🍅 This outdoor classroom provides our Trailblazers with opportunities for authentic, hands-on learning as they apply Georgia's Science and Mathematics Standards through meaningful, real-world experiences, all while having FUN! 🌱📚

🥔🎉 CHIP CHIP HOORAY! PRESENT POTATOES ARE HERE! 🎉🥔

We had a wonderful time celebrating all of our classes that achieved an attendance rate of 96% or higher this past month through our Present Potatoes Attendance Incentive! 🥔🌟

Our Trailblazers are showing up, ready to learn, and making every school day count! We are so proud of our students for their commitment to being at school and giving their best each day! 🌟

Interested in volunteering at Deer Chase Elementary or joining your child on an upcoming field trip? 🚌 Our next Volunteer Training is happening TODAY!

📅 Thursday, October 8
⏰ Two Drop-In Opportunities: 12:00 PM OR 3:00 PM
📍 Deer Chase Elementary Media Center

⚠️ IMPORTANT – REQUIRED BEFORE ATTENDING!

You MUST complete the Mandated Reporter Training BEFORE arriving for the in-person volunteer training.

🎟️ Your completion certificate is your ticket in the door! Please print your certificate and bring it with you. You must have it to participate in the in-person training.

🚌 Planning to attend a field trip? Remember, you must be an approved Level 3 Volunteer to participate!

🎨🏕️ Calling all creative Trailblazers! Our 2026–2027 Yearbook Cover Contest is here! One student’s winning artwork will be featured on the front cover of our yearbook!

Get inspired by Blazing New Trails at DCE, our camping/hiking theme, and our deer mascot! 🦌🌲

Please follow every direction on the flyer:
✅ Use white 8.5 × 11 printer paper in portrait orientation—short sides at the top and bottom.
✅ Include DCE or Deer Chase Elementary AND 2026–2027 on the front.
✅ Write the student’s full name, grade, and homeroom teacher on the back only.
✅ Create original, school-appropriate artwork—no copyrighted characters or images, such as Sonic or superheroes.

🖍️ Make your title stand out and use bright, vibrant colors! Any art medium is welcome, but markers show up best.

📅 Due Friday, October 23, at 1:00 p.m.
Turn entries in to your homeroom teacher. No late entries.

Only submissions that follow ALL directions will be considered.

Today we’re celebrating the amazing custodians who work behind the scenes every single day to keep Deer Chase Elementary clean, safe, and ready for our students and staff!

From the classrooms and hallways to the bathrooms and everything in between, we appreciate all the hard work, dedication, and care you put into our school each day. You do SO much more than clean—you help create a place where our students and staff can learn, work, and feel at home. 💚

Thank you for all that you do for Deer Chase! We are so thankful for you and everything you do for our Trailblazers! 🦌💛
