***************************Press Release******************************
On September 25, 2026, members of the Gasconade County Sheriff’s received information regarding a possible non-compliant s*x offender from the State of Arizona who was now residing in Gasconade County.

Subsequently, the Gasconade County Sheriff’s office opened an investigation into the matter.

Through investigative efforts and coordination with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Missouri State Highway Patrol S*x Offender Registry, and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, investigators confirmed the subject’s lifetime registration status in Arizona and determined that he had not registered as a s*x offender in Missouri.

Investigators further established that the subject had obtained a residence and full-time employment within Gasconade County.

As a result of the investigation, contact was made with the subject at his residence in the 1800 block of Price Road near Owensville where he was taken into custody and transported to the Franklin County Adult Detention Center where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending a warrant application.

On September 30, 2026, the Honorable Judge Ada Brehe Krueger issued a $5,000 cash or surety warrant for Jeffery J. Huelster of Owensville, Missouri, on the following charges:

Fail to register as a s*x offender (Class E Felony)

The Gasconade County Sheriff's Office takes s*x offender registration violations seriously. Registration requirements serve an important public safety purpose by providing law enforcement with information necessary to monitor compliance and maintain accurate registration records.

All criminal charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

🖤 End of Watch — September 17, 2026 🖤
Retired K-9 Raffa

It is with heavy hearts that we honor the life and service of Retired K-9 Raffa, who passed away on September 17, 2026, after suffering a medical event during a surgical procedure.

Raffa was more than a K-9. She was an officer, a partner, a protector, and a loyal companion. She dedicated her life to serving alongside her handler, answering the call and doing the work she was trained to do with courage and loyalty.

Behind every K-9 is a handler who invests countless hours into training, caring, working, and building a bond that few people will ever fully understand. To Raffa’s handler, thank you. Thank you for every mile traveled, every training session, every call answered, every long shift, and most importantly, for giving Raffa a life filled with purpose, love, and companionship. The loss of a K-9 partner is the loss of family, and our hearts are with you.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the entire team at Franklin County Animal Medical Center for the care, compassion, work, and dedication shown to Raffa. Thank you for doing everything you could for this special girl and for caring for those who dedicate their lives to serving others.

From all of us at The Chief Mason Griffith Foundation, we extend our deepest condolences to Raffa’s handler, family, fellow officers, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her.

Your shift is complete, Raffa.
You served faithfully. You were loved deeply. You will be remembered always.

The driver was ultimately arrested and transported to the Franklin County Adult Detention Facility, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the submission of a warrant application.

**********PRESS RELEASE***********

On the evening of September 6, 2026, the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 1400 block of Oak Street near Bland, Missouri, in reference to a reported bomb threat.

The 911 caller identified himself as “Jefferson Allan” and reported that individuals at a residence were constructing pipe bombs, possessed C4 explosives, and were threatening to blow up the street and nearby residences.

Due to the nature of the report, an emergency response was initiated involving the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office, Owensville Fire Department, Owensville Police Department, Owensville Area Ambulance District, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Responding personnel immediately began checking the area and investigating the allegations. No explosives were located, and there was no evidence of a legitimate threat to the residence, surrounding neighborhood, or public.

During the course of the investigation, deputies determined that the telephone number used to make the 911 call generated GPS information indicating that the call originated from the campus of Maryville University in Town and Country, Missouri.

Maryville University officials and the Town and Country Police Department assisted deputies in identifying the 911 caller as a student residing in a campus dormitory.

A deputy subsequently responded to Maryville University and contacted the suspect. During an interview, the suspect admitted that he made the 911 call as a prank and acknowledged that no bomb existed.

The suspect was ultimately taken into custody, transported to the Franklin County Adult Detention Facility, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a warrant application.

On September 7, 2026, Associate Circuit Judge Ada Brehe-Krueger set a $5,000 cash-only bond for Grayson C. Carpenter, 20 year old male, of Fort Worth, Texas, on the following charge:

• Making a False Bomb Report, Class E Felony

The Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Owensville Fire Department, Owensville Police Department, Owensville Area Ambulance District, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Maryville University officials, and the Town and Country Police Department for their assistance and cooperation during this incident.

False reports involving bombs or other serious threats require a significant emergency response and can place first responders and the public at unnecessary risk. The Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office takes these reports seriously and will thoroughly investigate false reports of this nature.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
