Today, the Hermitage Fire Department had the distinct pleasure of escorting two outstanding local athletes on their journey to the Little League Softball World Series. Brush 93 traveled to Conneaut Lake, PA, to participate in the send-off for the Lakeland All-Stars softball team, including Hermitage's own Nina and Kelsey Brewster.
We are incredibly proud to support these talented young athletes as they represent our community on the world stage.
Best of luck, Nina, Kelsey, and the entire Lakeland All-Stars team! Play hard, have fun, and make us proud! 🥎🚒❤️

Meet Firefighter Greg Bradac in our latest Get to Know Your Firefighters spotlight! 🚒

A Hermitage native, Greg has proudly served with the Hermitage Fire Department since 2016 while also serving in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Rescue and Firefighter and continuing his career as a firefighter/paramedic.

When asked what he enjoys most about the profession, Greg shared that no two shifts are ever the same and that the strong sense of brotherhood keeps him passionate about serving others.

His safety tip for everyone: Close your bedroom doors before you go to bed. It’s a simple habit that can help slow the spread of fire and smoke, giving you and your family valuable time in an emergency.

Thank you, Firefighter Bradac, for your dedication and service to our community! 👏🚒

We are honored to be recognized by the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce through their 'High Five to Heros' award. However, in classic emergency services fashion, we were unable to participate in the conclusion of the lunch and ceremony due to an emergency response. This means we did not get the opportunity to properly thank everyone present. So here we go;

Thank you to all of the organizations and people who make this award possible. Because we do not seek recognition for what we do, it may seem we are unappreciative. We assure you, we do appreciate the heartfelt thank-yous whenever an organization or individual conveys them (especially when there is food involved). So, thank you, and we look forward to continually being there in your times of need.

This past weekend three of our members attended the National Fire Academy (NFA) in Emmitsburg, MD. Every July the NFA hosts a State weekend, where only members of a Pennsylvania based fire department can attend. This event provide national level training alongside an opportunity to network with other fire service members from across the state. This training is also provided at no cost to our organization. Thank you to the members who dedicated their weekend to furthering their education.

The countdown to our 2nd Annual McGonigle Community Fun Day is officially on… and we wanted to share exciting news.. The Dunk Tank is BACK… Mercer County Coroner John Libonati is taking the hot seat again this year! 👀 🌊

After last year’s event, we knew there was no way we could have Community Day without giving everyone another chance to send John splashing into the dunk tank. People traveled from all over the area (some even driving hours!) just for the opportunity to dunk him. We’d say he was one of the biggest attractions of the day… but we’ll let him decide if that’s a compliment. 😂

John, thank you once again for being such an incredible sport and helping us make this event so much fun for our community!

Best of all? Just like everything else at Community Fun Day, it’s completely FREE to dunk John!

If you’d like to make an even bigger splash, you’re welcome to bring a canned good, non-perishable food item, or make a monetary donation to support the Mercer County Food Bank. Donations are completely optional and are NEVER required to take your shot at the dunk tank or attend our event.

The Mercer County Food Bank will be set up again this year right beside the dunk tank to collect donations and share information about the incredible work they do throughout our community. Whether you need assistance yourself, know someone who does, or simply want to learn more about their mission, we encourage you to stop by and say hello.

Because of your generosity last year, together we filled multiple collection bins and raised a wonderful monetary donation for the Food Bank. We’d love to make an even bigger impact this year!
