Dear Parent/Caregiver,

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we are conducting a survey in partnership with Studer Education to monitor our progress in creating a positive school experience for you and your child(ren). Your feedback is crucial in helping us identify areas for recognition and improvement.

The survey will ask you to select the school your child(ren) attends. Once you complete the survey for 1 school, you will have the option to provide feedback on another school if you have a child at another school in the district. Providing feedback to each school should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. We encourage you to complete it in one sitting, as your responses will be saved once you click submit.

We are so proud of our Dragon, Lydia Chambers, for placing first in the Christian County Literacy Council Spelling Bee last Thursday!
We also had Dallas Stay in 2nd place and Anita Nedio in 3rd place!

Our School Theme this year is One School. One Family. One Purpose…Carry What Matters…One Another.

The Wheelbarrow Way, coined by Doc Brown, is about a mindset of collective accountability and responsibility in addition to supportive mentorship!

This week’s Wheelbarrow Way Winner/Recipient is Ms. Katie Sirls! Ms. Sirls is in her second year with us at South Christian as a 3rd Grade Teacher! She has been a “Rising Star” since Day 1! Ms. Sirls “digs” deeply into the Reading Standards and the Reading Curriculum! She understands the impact of her work and the preparation it takes to teach kids to read Grade Level Content or above, and most importantly, to love to read! Ms. Sirls has high expectations for her students and for herself as their teacher! We have no doubt that they will accomplish their Reading Goals this school year! Ms. Sirls shows up every day and shows what it means to Carry What Matters! Thank you for all that you do, Ms. Sirls…keep shining! We appreciate you!

We can all LEARN from our mistakes, right? In Ms. Sirls’ Class, after reviewing their recent Module Assessment Data, students engaged in a Learning Walk to “tackle” the questions they found most challenging. Students were paired in groups so they could coach each other, clear up misconceptions, and learn from their mistakes together. Students did an awesome job using the Problem Solving Competency of our Profile of a Learner as they talked through their thinking! What a way to make learning more engaging and meaningful?! Thank you, Ms. Sirls for providing a Vibrant Learning Experience for our students!
