A few of our members were honored to be present when Governor Pillen signed an executive order today to help with radio communication issues facing emergency responders.

The Nebraska Military Department will lead the task force, with state agencies, local officials, and rural volunteer fire leadership participating. For firefighters, the goal is dependable radio coverage and communication with mutual aid departments, especially during wildfires and severe weather.

Last week, the First Responders Foundation North Platte Chapter issued a $2,500 benefit to the Hershey Volunteer Fire Department for equipment upgrades. The Hershey VFD is made up of some wonderful people who have a passion for serving Hershey and the surrounding communities. Pictured: Amanda Snide, Chris Woodward, Andy Hart, Landon Hart, Shaun Weekly and Issac Weekly. If you see these folks out and about, thank them for their public service!
