Congratulations to my friend Speaker Danny Perez on his nomination to serve as the next U.S. Ambassador to Brazil. I’ve had the privilege of knowing Danny since he first began his career in public service as a freshman legislator in Tallahassee, and I could not be prouder of this next chapter. Our community and nation will be well represented.

For more than 20 years, our community has waited for this mental health facility to open. The families who need it most have waited long enough.
I support opening its doors, but we have to do it right.
Accountability and compassion aren’t opposing values. If we want this to succeed, we need both.

Congratulations to St. Patrick’s church on 100 years! It was an honor to celebrate this incredible milestone and recognize the generations who have helped make this parish such a special part of Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County.

Always a pleasure to join friends and colleagues from across Miami-Dade at the Miami-Dade League of Cities Gala. It’s an honor to serve alongside so many dedicated public servants.

Honored to join my good friend Benjamin de Yurre at the Museo de la Brigada to commemorate 20 de Mayo and reflect on the enduring fight for a free Cuba. I was especially honored to be there with one of the true heroes of our community and a great friend, Félix Rodríguez, whose courage and sacrifice continue to inspire generations of Cuban exiles and freedom fighters.

Moments like these are the reason I love serving this community. Grateful for every conversation, every hug, and all of the love we receive at Cafecito con René.

Thank you to Mrs. Leon and her third grade class at Meadowlane Elementary School for inviting me to Career Day. I enjoyed spending time with these bright young students and answering their thoughtful questions about public service and leadership.
