As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we are taking a moment to celebrate the beautiful displays created by our talented 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Dual Language Immersion (DLI) students!

These displays represent so much more than creativity; they reflect the power of learning another language and developing an appreciation for the cultures that make our world so special. 🌎✨

We are proud of our DLI students and teachers for sharing their learning with all of us 💙🐻

Viewmont had some VERY special visitors today! ♥️🐻🖤

These amazing student-athletes helped kick off our morning by greeting students and families, opening car doors, sharing high-fives and smiles, and even stopping by classrooms to spend time with our students! Even better…Our students and families also received FREE tickets to Saturday’s big game against Wingate! 🤩🎟️

Experiences like these remind us of the power of community partnerships and the impact positive role models can have on our students. Seeing college athletes take time to connect with our little Bears is something special! So we want to extend a HUGE thank you to Lenoir-Rhyne Football for making our students feel like MVPs today! We can’t wait to cheer you on this Saturday! ♥️🐻 + 💙🐻

Our 4th and 5th grade Dual Language Immersion students put their learning into action!! ❤️

As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, students created welcome bags for children and families served by Centro Latino, featuring student-designed bilingual bookmarks and helpful school phrases in English and Spanish.

They also welcomed representatives from Centro Latino, who shared information about their organization’s services and impact on our community. Aligned with their social studies inquiry standards, students developed thoughtful questions, gathered evidence, and explored how people and organizations strengthen communities.

5th graders in Mrs. Kahn’s class put their decimal skills to work during differentiated math centers! Students practiced adding and subtracting decimals through hands-on, real-world activities like shopping 🛒💵 and measuring and cutting ribbon 🎀📏.

Differentiated centers give students the opportunity to practice skills in meaningful ways while working at a level that meets their individual learning needs. When students can touch it, measure it, spend it, and solve it, math becomes more applicable in real-world scenarios!!

Excellent work, 5th graders! 💙🐻

Our students had a BLAST with Mrs. Hatchett in STEAM as they explored the science behind geodes and crystal formation…and then made their very own! 💎

Hands-on experiences like this turn learning into an adventure, giving students the chance to create, investigate, make observations, and see science come to life right before their eyes.👀
