Last night while on stand by Engine 7 with a crew made up of Company and Station 4 members responded to multiple alarms including 2 working fires. The first was a dual response engine to the Syosset Fire Department where they stretched the 2nd line and helped to extinguish a fire in an attached garage. While returning to the district then help secure cutting up a tree that laid in the roadway in syosset and once back in district were directed to an Automatic Alarm. While responding the dispatcher advised of a call for wires down with a shed fire. After securing the Alarm they responded to join Engine 932 and Ladder 936 already on scene. Due to the active power lines being down in multiple places precautionary lines were stretched till power was confirmed dead and the deck gun off 937 was used to knock the bulk of the fire down from a distance.

“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children.” — George W. Bush

As we approach the 25th anniversary of September 11th please consider joining the community at either of these to remembrance services to honor all those who were lost that day and since then due to illness.

Thank you to the members who took time out to show some of the company history and let everyone see just how special it is!
