Congratulations, Officer Sean Bibby! 🏅

On Monday evening, Officer Bibby was honored by the Knights of Columbus St. Paul Council 6306 as their Police Officer of the Year for his meritorious service to the Highland Park community.

Chief Abrams nominated Officer Bibby for his consistent dedication to keeping our community safe, especially in traffic safety, his work with our veterans, and his skill as a trained crisis negotiator helping community members through mental health crises. A U.S. Navy veteran himself, Sean brings that same commitment to service to every shift.

Recently, Chief Abrams appointed Officer Bibby as the department's dedicated traffic officer, where he'll lead our efforts to make Highland Park's streets safer for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

Thank you to the Knights of Columbus St. Paul Council 6306 for recognizing our officers, and thank you, Sean, for always taking the initiative to make a difference.

If you see Ptl. Bibby around town, please help us congratulate him!

Yesterday, Officers Triana, Samson and Laraj represented the Highland Park Police Department at the funeral of Philadelphia Police Sergeant Shane Seiber, who was killed in the line of duty on October 10.

A 10-year veteran of the department and a U.S. Air Force veteran of two tours in Iraq, Sgt. Seiber was posthumously promoted during the service. Our thoughts are with his wife, his children, and the men and women of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Rest easy, Sergeant. We have the watch from here.

💜 Purpletober 💜

Many people know October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and our pink patches proudly reflect that. But October is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and purple has become its color: a symbol of courage, survival, and the fight to end domestic violence.

Domestic violence can happen to anyone, in any community, and often behind closed doors. No one should ever feel unsafe in their own home.

If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, help is available. Under New Jersey’s Prevention of Domestic Violence Act, our officers can help victims seek a temporary restraining order 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and connect them with trained advocates.

We are grateful for our partnership with Women Aware, whose advocates provide shelter, counseling, and support to survivors throughout Middlesex County. Their work saves lives.

📞 Women Aware confidential 24/7 hotline: 732-249-4504
🚨 If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
Non-emergency: 732-572-3800

You are not alone. 💜

🚔 🚸 DRIVE 25 – KEEP KIDS ALIVE!

Slow Down, Highland Park! Your Neighborhood, Your Safety!

The Highland Park Police Department is stepping up proactive speed enforcement throughout the Borough, including North Eighth Avenue, as part of our “Drive 25 – Keep Kids Alive” initiative. In the coming weeks, you'll notice signs appearing along various roadways reminding motorists to slow down and be mindful of their speed. Our residential streets are shared by families, children, pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists every day. A few extra miles per hour can make a big difference when it comes to everyone's safety.

Our goal is simple: Education, Awareness, and Enforcement. We're asking for the community's help in making Highland Park's streets safer for everyone. Please obey posted speed limits, stay alert, and remember that saving a few seconds isn't worth putting someone at risk. Our officers will be out conducting proactive speed enforcement, but lasting change starts with all of us working together.

🚸 Drive 25 – Keep Kids Alive! Let's slow down and keep Highland Park safe! 🚔

The Highland Park Police Department mourns the loss of Philadelphia Police Officer Shane Seiber, killed in the line of duty early this morning after 10 years of service. Our hearts are with his wife and two children, his wounded partner, and the entire Philadelphia Police Department.

Officer Seiber and his partner were answering a call of a person with a gun, the kind of call officers everywhere run toward so their neighbors don’t have to.

We honor Officer Seiber’s courage and decade of service to the people of Philadelphia. We stand with you, Philly.

Please keep the Seiber family in your thoughts and prayers, and if you see an officer this weekend, a simple thank you goes a long way.

Rest easy, Officer Seiber. We have the watch from here.
