📣 Big milestone for Washington County happening tomorrow

Washington County will celebrate the grand opening a new 60 pod shelter village in Aloha tomorrow, expanding safe and supported options for neighbors who are transitioning out of homelessness. This project represents years of planning, partnership and community engagement, and we are grateful to Open Door HousingWorks for operating the site and to Metro for the Supportive Housing Services funding that helped make it possible.

The village will offer private sleeping spaces, 24/7 staff support, meals, hygiene facilities and case management. These combined services will give residents a steady foundation to move toward stability and long term housing. We are excited to see this new resource come to life and to continue strengthening Washington County’s housing and homelessness response system.

Learn more about the project below:

Next Step Community in Aloha will open this year with 60 pods for up to 70 people, offering 24/7 support, on-site services and a purpose-built, permanent shelter space shaped through community engagement and funded by regional and state partners.
