On Saturday, October 17th 2026 at approximately 2050 Chalybeate Fire was dispatched with Courtland Fire to the area of Alabama Highway 33 and County Road 222 for a reported one car accident. Units arrived to find a single car wreck with two critical patients. Members immediately went to work assisting EMS crews with packaging and treating both patients. With assistance from Courtland, a safe Landing Zone was established for Air Evac 177 and Air Evac 15.

Units remained on scene providing traffic control and hazard mitigation while power and towing crews worked the scene.

This was our 43rd year taking Fire Prevention Resources to our school students!

Every October, schools across the country pause their routines to focus on something that could one day save a life: fire safety awareness. While fire prevention may not feel like a modern-day concern for many students, the truth is, house fires, electrical hazards, and cooking mishaps remain very real risks in homes and communities.

Integrity Design Services partnered with us and provided the funds to purchase the Fire Prevention Materials. Thank you Brad Campbell!

In addition to this outreach, we also offered free, installed smoke detectors to student families! Our commitment is to both keep our most valuable asset - our children - safe and inspire them to consider protecting their community as a First Responder in the future.

🚨🚨Announcement 🚨🚨

From the members and officers at Chalybeate Fire & Rescue we are very proud to announce that we were recently awarded a FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) in the amount of $70,357! This funding will be used to purchase 15 sets of structural firefighting gear to replace our expired turnout gear and better protect our firefighters. Each set of gear will consist of a helmet, coat, pants, boots, two pairs of gloves, two nomex particulate blocking hoods, and other miscellaneous PPE items.

We will soon begin the process of building our specifications, testing gear and bidding out the order. We will announce further details at a later date.
