Our Community Services Division was hard at work to help make these events impactful. We think the lit-up faces speak for themselves!

Last week, Government 101 participants got an inside look at the downtown fire station. Police Chief Jason Winn and Fire Chief Jeff Cabe presented and gave attendees a chance to hear what both departments are all about.

Attendees had a chance to learn about traffic stops and investigation techniques, explore the inner workings of the Orange Rural Fire Department, and even take a ride in the ladder truck for a high-up view of our beautiful town!

Last week, our diversion social worker, Yazmin Washington, attended the 70th North Carolina Law Enforcement Women's Association (NCLEWA) Training and received the 2026 New Member Award!

Yazmin joined NCLEWA in 2025 and quickly became an active member, joining the Events Committee. The New Member Award is a new honor presented to a member with fewer than three years in the organization whose contributions have made a significant and positive impact on NCLEWA and their agency.

We're especially proud that Yazmin was the very first recipient of this award! Her dedication, leadership, and commitment to making a difference are truly inspiring. Please join us in celebrating Yazmin and this well-deserved recognition!
